DIY Wedding Hair & Makeup

Regardless of whether or not you choose to attend my makeover masterclass to help you on your way to perfect DIY wedding hair & makeup, here are a few tips and tricks you need to know:[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1476048559973{margin-top: 32px !important;margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]

Don’t Skip the Primer

A lot of people are a bit suspicious of primer – is it really worth it or is it just an unnecessary expense? My advice is get it and use it! You won’t achieve a flawless finish or makeup that lasts without it.

What’s more, invest in both a face and eye primer – don’t just use one for both jobs. They’re both total must-haves and contrary to popular belief, a regular primer won’t cut it for perfect eye makeup.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1476048587479{margin-top: 32px !important;margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]

Wash Your Hair the Night Before

You may like the idea of having freshly washed hair on the morning of your wedding, but the truth is that just washed hair is very difficult to handle, particularly if you use conditioner. Hair washed the night before actually looks better too as it’s usually more settled and less fluffy.

Make your DIY wedding hair styling way easier with this simple trick – you won’t regret it![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”1502″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center” css=”.vc_custom_1476049670367{margin-top: 32px !important;margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1476048866829{margin-top: 32px !important;margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]

False Lashes

For flirty, fluttery eyes false lashes are an absolute must! Even if you’re going for a very natural look, false lashes make all the difference to the end result, especially in the wedding photos.

Strip lashes can look a bit too big and fake, so go for individuals for a more subtle look. These are quite fiddly to apply, so make sure you practice until you’re really comfortable using them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1476049071925{margin-top: 32px !important;margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]

Use Natural Daylight

A huge mistake many people make when doing DIY wedding hair & makeup is to do it in a place that is too dark. You have to find an area with lots of natural daylight to use as your work station – attempting to go ahead with that can lead to disaster!

Avoid bad colour choices, patchy makeup and obvious hair pins by making sure that you’ve got plenty of light to work in.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1476049592347{margin-top: 32px !important;margin-bottom: 32px !important;}”]

Use Heated Rollers

Rollers aren’t just for curly hairstyles, they’re also fantastic for creating the perfect foundation, full of natural looking volume, for almost every hairdo.

Learn how to set heated rollers correctly (you’ll find out all about this on my makeover masteclass!) and leave them in for around 20 minutes, or until completely cool, before starting on your DIY wedding hair. The extra bounce, volume and movement will make a world of difference to the end result.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
